About

Mark Bautista is a professional singer and voice coach, working with singers and speakers, across many genres/styles, at all levels and all ages. He is based in Berlin, Germany.

His performing experience includes opera, oratorio, choral music, musical theatre and dance.

Mark studied vocal performance at the University of Alaska Anchorage, where his journey into teaching began. Through a medical emergency, that resulted in being in a coma for weeks, he had to relearn how to use his voice. This accident created a space for curiosity about the body and mind, and how it relates the the voice.

“Losing my ability to use my voice was one of the most terrifying things I’ve ever experienced, but it also opened many new doors for me.”

His curiosity with the voice has led him to explore outside of classical voice — other practices and methodologies like the Alexander Technique, Estill Voice Training, Linklater Voice, yoga, pilates, meditation, physical theatre and dance. Through this multidisciplinary exploration, research, and self-study, he finds ways to connect insights from seemly disparate sources that allow us to dive deeper into our voice and ourselves.
